About MeReinhard Behrens was born in West Germany in 1951 and after attending Art School in Germany he became a post graduate student at Edinburgh College of Art. He also continued his studies at Grays School of Art, Aberdeen. Since then he has been particularly interested in the Scottish landscape and the sense of place. This drawing, made with light and dark pencil, coloured crayons and powdered pastel is typical of his style. The subject is the area "Footdee" by the harbour in Aberdeen, long associated with the sea and part of Aberdeen's oldest inhabited area.
The objects surrounding the main picture indicate the "texture" of the area and are careful renditions of found objects.
