About MeSoft-paste mug based on an imaginary Japanese or Chinese style pattern, with some elements drawn from contemporary Worcester styles. The Jabberwocky pattern featuring an exotic bird like creature with magnificent tail was derived from Chinese porcelain. The name, which became current in the 19th century, was from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass.
More About Me
When this mug was produced, coffee was extremely popular as evidenced by the large number of male-dominated coffee houses in Britain whilst tea, although far more expensive, was becoming popular among the upper classes.
