About MeOften called a libation cup these intricately carved vessels were used as part of rituals for offering wine to the gods. Rhinoceros horn was widely used as it was thought it could protect against poison, and bestow long life.

The carving of this cup takes the form of a flowering tree peony twisting and entwining itself up one side and ending at the top with the head of a mythical beast. The open blooms of the peony tree symbolise peace.
