About MeThis is the standard type of Free Church token, rectangular in shape with cut corners. As usual it is inscribed on both sides: Side 1: Free Church Foveran 1848; Side 2: This Do in Remembrance of Me 1 Cor.XI.24.

The date informs us that this token was issued five years after The Disruption which created the Free Church. At that time the dissidents from Foveran Parish Church would have left to form the new congregation - but the kirk session minutes somehow fail to mention the event!

Foveran Free Church, a small and characteristically plain building, is located on the west side of the main street in the village of Newburgh on the Aberdeenshire coast. The building functions today as the church hall of Foveran Parish Church.
