About MeA thick, square token with a circular inscription on one side only which reads: UA Congn. Belmt.St.Abdn. (i.e.United Associate Congregation , Belmont Street Aberdeen)

Belmont Street Church saw several denominational changes during its history: on its opening in 1777 it belonged to a faction of the Secession Church; later it was United Presbyterian before becoming a United Free Church.

Although this token is slightly more elaborate than other 18th century examples it is still rather basic in design. Like most of its contemporaries it was probably of local manufacture.
