About MeAfter the disaster at Piper Alpha there was a major enquiry into the cases. There was also a need to quench the fires that were fed from the escaping hydrocarbons which literally had melted much of the structure rendering what remained precarious. This telex outlines the knocking down of what remained in order to render the area safe and to prepare for the recovery of evidence for the fatal accident enquiry.
