About MeStirrup used for Kirschener's wire extension: a method of applying skeletal traction. the wire was secured by tightening the nuts, nurses had toensure that they remained tight and that there was no sighn of inflammation at the wound sites. stamped "hm government" perhaps indicating that it riginally came from Woodend (Oldmill) when a military hospital. Latterly it was stored in the basement of ARI, Woolmanhill.
