About MePortrait of Brigadier General Frost Pasha in dress uniform with decorations and sword.This photograph is signed in the low-right corner ‘Sébah & Joaillier’ - the names of two Constantinopolitan photographers that partnered from c. 1888 until the early 1900s. Therefore, this photograph can be dated to c.1888-1902 (when Frost died). However, due to the large size and colourful pigmentation, the present photographic portrait of Frost Pasha might be an early-twentieth century print. The original photograph would be a smaller albumen print mounted on cardboard (similar to a cabinet card - typically measuring 108 by 165 mm), and would have a neutral image tone, such as sepia.
