About MeThe sculptor William McMillan was the Master of the Sculpture School at the Royal Academy, London from 1929-41. He created many works in London, including the bust of Beatty and the East Fountain, both in Trafalgar Square (1948), the Goetze Memorial Fountain in Regents Park (1950), George VI on Carlton House Terrace (1955), Raleigh in Whitehall (1959), Goodenough in Mecklenburgh Square (1936) Coran in Brunswick Square (1963), Sir John Alcock and Sir Arthur Brown at Heathrow (1966) and Charles Rolls and Henry Royce at Rolls Royce, 65 Buckingham Gate, (placed 1978). In the Royal Academy on the staircase is his statue of J.M.W. Turner. This is a maquette for that work.
