About MeYellow silk evening dress illustrating the height of fashionable dress in 1881, in a style popularised by the great couturier Charles Worth. The bodice is tightly boned and fitted, fastening with silk lacing. The machine made lace trimming on collar and cuffs is typical of the era. The skirt is drawn back to a bustle and hooped up in layers of fabric with a train emphasising the shape. There is also a peplum at the back of the bodice to add bulk to the bustle area.
