About MeMcBey's technique of watercolour painting was enhanced by his perfectionism and attention to detail. As the years passed, his paintings began to take on an almost Japanese simplicity, line being the most important element, but the atmosphere of the landscape is described with soft watercolour washes in mauves, yellows and olive green.
