About MeThis is part of a slab-built industrial vessel with a short handle, which you can see sticking out to the rear, has green glaze on the inside and is smoke-blackened.
This vessel was made in Aberdeen during the late 14th century, probably for industrial use. It had a white residue over the inside, analysis of which may help determine what it was used for.
Vessels such as this were made using slabs of clay and roughly shaped.
