About MeColin Ardley was born in Aberdeen and trained at Gray's School of Art between 1971 and 1975. He has built a successful reputation in Germany and since 1992 he has lived and worked in Dresden. Shaft/Grounded was included in a major retrospective exhibition Shifting Horizons - Colin Ardley, Works 1975 - 2000.
