About MeThis large wall plaque or dish is hand painted in a style reflecting the bright colours of the art deco movement but depicting a traditional leaf pattern. Although nowadays better known for their animal models, the Beswick factory produced a wide range of decorative goods. John Beswick took over his father's business in 1921 and brought new, modern lines into production, phasing out older styles. These items, marked Beswick Ware, date from around 1936 onwards.
