About MeSome of the earliest paper dolls designed for children were made in England in the early 18th century and usually formed part of a moralistic storybook. These gained immediate popularity, partly because of their cheapness. This popularity continued into the 19th century where dolls were also produced with different sets of clothes often showing the latest fashions, historic figures or fancy dress.

From 1880-1951, Raphael Tuck & Sons were one of the biggest producers of paper dolls in England, with branches in New York and Paris.
