The top half of the front cover has an illustration of a boy and a girl looking at a cake (held by an adult arm) and the title "DYSON'S SELF-RAISING FLOUR". The lower half of the cover has images of cakes and buns tumbling down the right side and on the left, the words "A Collection of Self-help Recipes". The lower edge is inscribed "PRICE 6d. each. Third Edition".

The booklet contains recipes for cakes, pastries and puddings. A pencil annotation inside the back cover is a recipe for potato crisps.
