About MeSt Ninian (II) was built in Dundee in 1950 for the North of Scotland & Orkney & Shetland Steam Navigation Company. The vessel was the company's largest to date and their first twin-screw motor ship. St Ninian operated company services between Leith, Aberdeen, Orkney and Shetland until its sale in 1971. By 1976, St Ninian (now known as Buccaneer) was owned by the Galapagos Tourist Corporation, Ecuador and operated regular cruises to the Galapagos Islands. This work provides quite a contrast to the island voyages for which St Ninian was originally constructed.
