About MeThe D W Fitzgerald was an Aberdeen built steam trawler buit at Hall Russell yard in 1916. Upon completion it was requisitioned by the Royal Navy as a minesweeper under the name of HMT Cap d'Antifer. After the war the vessel was returned to owners and fished from Aberdeen (A629) until outbreak of the Second World War when it was again requisitioned for auxiliary duties in 1940. Again after hostilities ended the vessel was again fishing until 1960. In 1961 whilst being towed for scrapping it was wrecked off Girdleness.
