About MeAnya Gallacio is one of Scotland's most fascinating contemporary artists who is best known for her installations using materials such as salt, ice, flowers and fruit. In 2003 she was invited to create one such site-specific installation for the Duveen Galleries at Tate Britain. Gallaccio was one of the first artists to exhibit at Dundee Contemporary Arts and recently returned there to produce this pair of prints, consisting of a screenprint on perspex and an etching. The images were digitally manipulated to highlight the opposite extremes of print, playing on the traditional inky black depth of etching and the more decorative potential of screenprint, a quality that the artist has enhanced with the addition of glitter.
