About MeJames Cromar Watt was an Aberdonian architect, artist and a jeweller, and was a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

These are some examples of his granulated gold work and they are accompanied by notes by Cromar Watt himself. They are mounted for display in dark stained wood frame.

Gold granulation is an ancient technique, and this demonstrates his interest in precious metalwork. By the end of his life, Cromar Watt had amassed a vast collection of ancient oriental ceramics and precious metal artifacts, and he bequest them to the Gallery on his death.
