Her placement was with Shell U.K. Exploration and Production, based in Aberdeen.
The tapestry is inspired by the landscape of Shell's container base at the Torry docks, combining the vibrant red and yellow of Shell's colours with the dark, dismal backdrop of the container yard.
A recurrent theme in the weavings has been Aberdeen and the surrounding area.
Progressing from Brennan's tapestry of Aberdeen which represents the granite industry, this tapestry represents the new industry of oil.
The bright positive colours represent Shell and contrast with the dark and dirty colours used it represent the oil and docks.
More About Me
Rhind wove this while on a placement with Shell UK in Aberdeen during the "Artist-in-Industry Scheme". The colours represent those of Shell against the darker hues of its container yard
