About MeJane Hamlyn is known for her salt-glazed functional wares. During the 1990s she was instrumental in the revival of salt-glazing, where salt is thrown into the kiln at peak temperature to create a glaze with a texture similar to orange peel. She also discovered the green colour that appears when a titanium wash is painted over a blue slip (liquid clay).
