About MeStainless steel pin brooch from a series of wheel-shaped brooches. This brooch is scattered with stylised leaves, breaking free from the controlled circular form for which Watkins is known.In 2003 Watkins researched plasma coating for metals, creating a fine matt surface texture on the stainless steel. Some of the pieces are coloured in tones of pinks, violets and blues, a serendipitous outcome of the technique. Although dark in colour this brooch also has soft subtle coloured highlights.
More About Me
While dark in appearance, the brooch itself does have tints of bright colours such as pink, violet and blue.
