About MeA pair of early silver spoons featuring shallow ovoid bowls. The reverse handle shows a good example of a prominent rat tail heel. The handle tapers to a disc end, decorated with engraved cross hatching.

Despite laws requiring gold and silver to be sent centrally for hallmarking, many silversmiths from NE Scotland used local marks to avoid both the perils of travel and paying duty.
