About MeThe Aberdeen artist Robert Brough studied at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh and later in Paris. He travelled to Brittany, Spain and Morocco and developed a distinctive essentially Post Impressionist style. In London, he also took inspiration from his close friend the fashionable portrait artist John Singer Sargent and established a successful career as a portraitist. Brough died tragically when he was just thirty three due to severe burns sustained in a train crash near Sheffield in 1903.
