About MeBarry McGlashan studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen and was the recipient of several awards, including the John Kinross travel scholarship in 1996, the Guthrie Prize 1998 and the Alistair Salveson Art Scholarship in 2001.His paintings are often dream-like visions with a subliminal but somewhat oblique narrative, of which he writes;
"I have an interest in stories and how they can be told from a very early age [and] a love of cinema and literature. I do not however see each individual painting or drawing as a single narrative, rather it is an amalgamation of smaller stories which relate in some way - almost a sort of anthology creating something bigger and more complete.
