About MeThis cross stitch sampler was sewn by Gerogina Meldum aged 11 years in 1934.
The upper section comprises upper case and lower case alphabets and numerals interspersed with bands of different stitch patterns.
The motto 'Home is where the heart is' is stitched in the centre between two stylised hearts.
There are various motifs along the bottom including a stylised house, trees and a man and a woman.
More About Me
The donor presented this charming framed sampler to Aberdeen’s collection 70 years after she created it when she was just 11 years old. This treasured possession was clearly well looked after over the years.
