1967: AVONRIVER was sold to Hubbard Exploration Co. Ltd, Aberdeen (associated with the science fiction author L. Ron Hubbard of Scientology fame) still Aberdeen registered.

General History:
AVONRIVER was part welded in places this being new to Aberdeen. AVONRIVER was one of the biggest trawlers to work out of Aberdeen, fishing the distant waters of Icleand, Barent Sea, of 14 days duration. AVONRIVER was fitted with two lifeboats on the upperdeck at the stern.
08/06/1950: Trial trip in Aberdeen Bay 8 June 1950.
10/1966: Class withdrawn by owners.
1968: Converted to a private yacht for a U.S. owner.

Note: Engine number 295, boiler by David Rowan. Fitted for fuel O.L. 6,50 Flash Point above 150 degrees F. Triple expansion engine 3cylinders of 12 3/4", 23", and 37", with 26" stroke, boiler pressure 220 lb (s).
