01/11/1834:
Loss or the Smack CHAMPION, of Aberdeen.— To the catalogue of loss of property at sea, occasioned by the late disastrous weather, we have to give the Aberdeen and London Shipping Company’s smack, CHAMPION, Alexander Barnett, master for this voyage, from Aberdeen to London, with general cargo, principally provisions. On Tuesday morning, during the prevalence of a heavy surf, the concomitant of a severe gale, she went on the Gun-fleet, and has not been got off. The cargo has been saved, though damaged; but it is feared that the vessel will become a total wreck.
