About MeThe Reverend Dr. Samuel Trail was born 31 May 1806. The son of John Trail and Ann Ritchie, he was the eldest of five siblings. He was educated at King's College, Aberdeen, where he would later become Professor of Systematic Theology. In 1841 he married Helen Scott with whom he had five children. The youngest son, James William Trail became professor of Botany at Kings College from 1875-1919. Throughout his life, Dr. Trail kept a meticulous record of all his purchases and business transactions.
