Macduff, Scotland, 1896 - 2012
About MeSang & Co. was formed in 1896 and is listed in the Post Office Directory as ginger beer manufacturers with premises at 1 Whitehall Place, Aberdeen. The company later moved to Seaforth Road, Aberdeen around 1912. It moved to its last facility in Macduff in the 1970s. Its most well-known product, Moray Cup was sold around the North-east of Scotland and was particularly popular as an accompaniment to fish suppers or playground snacks. Other products included Deveron Valley spring water, MacB flavoured water, Jet Pop and Justadash sugar free concentrates. The company was taken over in 2007 but struggled for survival and following going into administration, it was sold to the US drinks company, Cott Beverages in 2012. In 2018, the company then known as Cott Macduff was sold to the Rotterdam-based company Refresco.
