Alexander Forbes

About MeForbes served his apprenticeship in the 1720s, first with George Walker and then with his son John Walker. He was admitted as a Goldsmith Burgess in 1728 and worked until the 1740s. He seems to mainly have produced flatware, although like many of the men working at this time we lack precise details about his work. In 1733 his business was taken over by William Jamieson, who is well represented in the Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums Collection.
