Martin Brothers

1873-1915
About MeThe Martin Brothers, Robert Wallace, Edwin, Walter and Charles produced a range of salt glazed stoneware pieces from their two London potteries. They worked first at Fulham from 1873-77, and then at Southall from 1877-1915.The brothers shared the production, although Charles oversaw the management and administration.
They are best known for their rather grotesque animals, particularly reptiles and birds, which were modelled by R.W.Martin from the early 1880s. But it was the thrown wares - vases, jugs and jars - which constituted the main output
