Stories in ceramics

Alexander Arbuthnott Dunbar (1929-2012), known as Sandy, amassed an extensive collection of studio pottery of which 480 pieces were gifted to Aberdeen Archives, Gallery & Museums.

His collection can be categorised and themed in many ways. There are stories of masters and apprentices, quiet pots and those that demand attention, pieces inspired by East Asia and so much more
