GREENLAND had arrived at St. Johns with 25,000 seals.

07/04/1875:
Telegrams received in Scotland state that steamer GREENLAND arrived at St. John's, Newfoundland, with 25,000 seals - one of the first arrivals of the season of the seal fishery fleet. Prospects of season are reported to be highly favourable.

GREENLAND Arrived at Harbour Grace, Newfoundland with 15,000 seals.

11/05/1875:
Captain of steamer GREENLAND received 7,500 dollars for his share of catch, pay of those engaged being according to the catch.

12/04/1881: GREENLAND arrived at Newfoundland with 24,000 seals.

27/04/1886:
Steamer GREENLAND has arrived at Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, with 15,000 seals.

26/03/1898: Arrived at St. John’s reporting that crew had landed on the ice off Cape Bonavista to capture seals and were struck by a severe snowstorm in which 48 died and only 6 survived. The ship had carried 25 frozen bodies back with it.
The sealer returned with 13,500 seals.
28/05/1898: Discharged oil and skins at Glasgow, then returned to Greenock for overhaul at the Garvel graving dock.
04/1901: Rescued the crew of the HOPE (A. Hall 1873) which had sunk off Byron Island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
22/04/1903: Arrived at St. John’s with 16,000 seals.
23/03/1907: While sealing on the Grand Banks, the propeller shaft broke and vessel drifted until it foundered in ice. 150 crew rescued.
