General History:
29/11/1848:
"Lerwick, Nov. 14. - The crew of the brig FLORA, Pye, of Aberdeen, from Archangel, formerly reported wrecked at Havre de Grind Rocks, near Foula Island, October 30, arrived here 8th inst [i.e. November]; they reported the vessel struck the rocks at 5 am., but soon came off, filled and went off to sea; some boats attempted to tow her, but were obliged to leave her in consequence of the strong current. The FLORA had on board a chart of Norie's, which laid down the rocks six miles off the land instead of three." (Aberdeen Journal)
