1912: Owners Thomas Davidson, Aberdeen.
06/1915: Requisitioned by Admiralty.
1919: Returned to owners.

General History:
28/07/1903: Launched. Named by Mrs. Cruickshank.
30/12/1908: Dragged its anchor in Fara Sound, Westray and collided with the HOPE of Peterhead, breaking the HOPE from its anchor and causing it to go ashore and become a total constructive loss.
14/03/1911: Arrived at Aberdeen towing the Hull trawler CRYSTAL which had been disabled by boiler failure 200 miles N.N.E. of Aberdeen.
1912: Renamed PROCYON.
06/1915: Requisitioned, in service as a boom defence vessel. Armament 1 x 3 pdr. gun
1919: Returned to owners.
17/11/1927: Sank after collision with the Icelandic trawler MAI. No lives lost.
Crew launched their boat and were picked up by the MAI which took them to Peterhead.

PROCYON: - The brightest star in Canis Minor or mammals of the racoon family.

Hall, Russell, Order Book: - Baillie Brown, Aberdeen transferred to the Aberdeen Steam Trawling and Fishing Co. Ltd. 100A1 at Lloyds. Furnaces 3 scored out and 2 corrugated substituted.
Trawl winch 7” x 12” double barrels and helical gear. Steam duplex pump.

Steam by screw, inverted, surface condensing, triple expansion engine, 12” x 20” x 33” with 22” stroke, 392 i.h.p., 64 r.h.p. by H.R.
Boiler: number 1.S.B.; heating area (ft^2) 1150; diameter 12'; length 10'; furnaces 2. ann.corr. 3' 8 1/2" diameter. Pressure (p.s.i) 160
Propellor diameter 8' 4 1/4", solid cast iron.
