General History:
07/01/1918: en route from Swansea to Rouen, BRAENEIL spotted a German U-boat (given variously as U-93 or U-95) and rammed her conning tower, sinking the submarine. It was reported that to be quite sure of hitting the submarine the BRAENEIL then reversed over the spot. The crew received a reward and the captain received the DSC.
