About MeMillais rented Birnam Hall, Perthshire with its stables and servants from 1881 to late autumn 1892. The family enjoyed outdoor pursuits. During his visit, Millais painted a series of landscapes and took part in fishing and hunting parties at the Murthly Estate. Some of his happiest times were spent here. Birnam Hall, also known as 'Dalpowie' was demolished shortly after the Second World War.
