About MePhotographer and sculptor Nathan Coley has established a growing reputation as an artist of international stature. In 2007, he was one of four artists short listed for the Turner prize. He was selected for this honour because of his solo exhibition at Mount Stuart, Isle of Bute, the public installation Camouflage Church at Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain and his contribution to a group exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. In this piece, as in all of his work, Coley addresses the ongoing conflict between religious and state authorities, the conflicting systems of personal, social, religious and political belief through which we structure our lives.
