About MeThis memorial is sited on Balgownie Road, at its junction with Ellon Road.The fallen of the two World Wars are commemorated in two ways: with a conventional memorial and with a bench with plaque. The memorial is a simple granite pillar, cruciform in section, resting on a stepped square base. At the foot of the pillar, on top of the south east side, is a lion's head well directly over a granite trough. The top of the pillar is surmounted by a broad corniced capstone upon which a shrouded urn is placed. At the top of the main panel (facing south east) are the dates 1914 - 1918. Between these dates is a laurel wreath and below the main inscription: 'To the sacred and glorious memory of those men of this parish who gave their lives in the Great War' '1939 - 1945 And of those who fell in the Second World War'. On each of the panels to the S.W. and N.E. there are six names with ranks and units commemorated, whilst the N.W. face contains the roll of honour of those who fell in the First World War including an Australian and Canadian. Underneath are the years 1939 - 1945 and four names with ranks and units. At the foot of the same panel a name from the Korean War is also remembered.
The second memorial situated adjacent takes the form of a seat, facing east. It is constructed of rough granite blocks which form the back and bench supports. The seat itself consists of two wooden planks. A bronze plaque affixed to the centre block of the back has the inscription 'In glorious memory of the men of Bridge of Don and district who gave their lives in the World War of 1939 - 1945. Erected by Denmore's S.W.R.I.' At the top of the plaque there is the insignia of the Scottish Women's Rural Institutes.
