About MeKatherine studied at the Royal College of Art, London from 1989 to 1992, where she held the Princess of Wales Scholarship. She created 'Drip 2' as a student in 1990.

Glycerine glides down the undulating tube of 'Drip 2' and drips into the mouth of a glass vessel reminsicent of the uterus, stomach or lung. Obvious associations are with feeding and sexuality, but other levels of meaning are suggested. Placed in the centre of a table the glass reminds one of a laboratory experiment (test tubes, condensers and pipettes) and arouses thoughts on moral issues such as in vitro fertilisation and genetic engineering. For Dowson the work is about the hidden landscape within us.
