About MePorcelain saucers, each featuring a polychrome enamel shield-shaped cartouche with intertwined initials IH.

The term ‘exportware’ refers to items which were manufactured in East Asia specifically for export to Europe and America.

Drawings for specially commissioned pieces were created in Europe and transported on trading ships to China where they were copied onto ceramic wares. These designs often incorporated family crests and it would take about two years after sending the design for the porcelain to arrive.
