About MeThis tall stoneware jug has a bulbous body, a curved rim with plain lip and a strap handle. The jug is glazed all over in a celadon kakhi green glaze and decorated with a reddish-brown tenmoku slip applied in a pattern of vertical double lines enclosing circles which contain dots.

Edward Hughes had a great love of English slipware and most of his decorative techniques are slipware in origin, often influenced by the work of Michael Cardew.
