About MeRed bowl with dark brown and cream slip. It features an incised decoration of dots and triangles on the rim with three abstract ovals motifs on the sides with thistles, tulips and heart shapes and an inscription, West Campfield, April 1890. The base motif consits of a two tone six petalled flower or star surrounded by a border with linear chevrons. The border and inter petal spaces have indented dots.

It is possible that bowls and dishes like this were often given as wedding or anniversary gifts.

This large bowl was made at Seaton Pottery, Aberdeen in 1890.
