About MeThis canvas cross stitch sampler was made by Mary Duthie aged 11 years in the 1860s.
The upper section comprises upper case and lower case alphabets, numerals and family initials interspersed with bands of various stitch patterns.
The lower section comprises various motifs including apple trees, flowers, birds, a house, a deer, dogs, hearts and tulips.
The sampler has a strawberry border.
