About MeJames McBey's friend Lord Rowallan had commissioned James to paint portraits of all the children in his extended family once they reached the age of eight. This provided the excuse for James to visit Scotland and in late August 1951 he travelled to Rowallan. On this occasion he extended the trip and visited the East Coast. In Crail Mcbey painted the picturesque harbour of the town with its distinctive crow-stepped gables.James McBey
