About MeGas hob in six parts. The base comprises a black-enamelled square frame and a brass-coloured top, which supports two removable metal rings - one circular, one a rounded rectangle - which are also enamelled in black paint. Beneath the rings are three removable burners, one rounded (to produce a circular flame) and two shaped like rectangular grates (to produce long flames). On the front are two control knobs in the form of brass wing nuts and a brass lever for altering the flow of gas to the two rectangular burners. The removable rings and burners fit into grooves, whilst the top features ridges to support pots and pans.On the left- and right-hand sides of the base frame is formed the following text in positive relief: "0. 2 1/4 LB. ABERDEEN GAS DEPT".
On the front is a screwed-on metal label that has "PROPERTY OF THE / ABERDEEN CORPORATION / GAS DEPARTMENT / No. 42362" stamped onto it.
