About MeOne of a group of photographs taken for inclusion in the book Oil Rush published in 1975. The images are a snapshot of the activity and its impact upon Aberdeen and the wider area.
In 1975 the opening hours of pubs were much more restricted and wouldn't open untill 11am and would close at 10pm. This image shows a queue of oil workers who have finished their stint offshore waiting for the pub to open.
The Star and Garter was on Crown Street in Aberdeen, and was a favourite meeting place for oil workers.
