About MeArticle printed in an unknown newspaper on 1 July 1924, related to three auctions which took place at Southeby's. At one of these auctions McBey's etching "Lion Brewery" (see ABDAG005472) sold to Messrs. Colnaghi for a record price of £101. McBey's "Quai Gambetta, Bologne" (see ABDAG002921) was sold for £44 to W. B. Simpson, "Sunrise at Tarragona" (see ABDAG001985) was purchased by A. Dott for £43, and "Rouen" (see ABDAG002107) was also sold to a Connell for £40.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this newspaper article.
